Biography: Dr. Lawrence C. Roff was installed as Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church on August 30, 2009.  He has previously served as pastor of PCA churches in South Florida, Ohio, New Jersey, and Virginia.  One of those was a church organized in 1680, which has uniquely prepared him to lead First Presbyterian Church into its 250th anniversary in 2010. 

In addition to his pastoral experience, Dr. Roff has been a professor at Knox Theological Seminary (associated with Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church) in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  He holds degrees in organ performance, church history, and worship and is a published author in each of these fields.  He has a heart for missions, preaching and teaching regularly in Ukraine.  He is editor of the PCA's "Trinity Hymnal" and serves as organist each year for the denomination's General Assembly.

Larry and Betty have a great love for the people at First Pres.  They delight in the beauties of the mountains and valleys of upstate New York.  They both enjoy working in the yard and Betty is an avid "yard-saler."  The Roffs have two children and three grandchildren, all living in Chattanooga, TN.
